QCWA uses an email robot (often called a list server) to broadcast official bulletins by email to a list of bulletin subscribers.
How it works
If you wish to receive official QCWA bulletins by email, you must get on the robot's list. Only the QCWA Board of Directors can post messages for distribution. Your email address is safe from spammers and will not be used for any other purpose.
Make sure to send this message from the account you want added to the list. The SUBJECT and BODY of the message are ignored. The robot will send you a confirmation message. You MUST follow the instructions in the confirmation message to complete your subscription. This extra step prevents others from signing you up and is required by many ISPs to demonstrate that the list is a true "opt-in" subscription.
Make sure to send this message from the account that is on the list. The SUBJECT and BODY of the message are ignored. The robot will send you a confirmation message.
If you don't get the confirmation message...
There are a several possible causes:
your return address is incorrect
you are using an email forwarding system - many forwarding systems cause the final email system to reject the mail (This happens with some ARRL and RAC alias addresses.)
you are using a challenge-response system - the robot cannot answer challenges (Earthlink uses challenge-response - you may be able to pre-approve the robot address)
you are using a system such as "winlink.org" which requires a secret keyword in the email or addition to the winlink whitelist
you or your ISP have set up spam filters that trap or reject the mail
some mail systems - especially those in government departments - appear to refuse mail generated by email robots
Unfortunately, messages sent to you by "listmom" will also fail for the same reasons.
If you do not get a response, try using a different email address. Gmail.com provides free accounts and they work just fine.
To get help
To correspond directly with a person about technical problems with the QCWA bulletins robot, use this form . If you have comments or concerns about the content of a bulletin, use the reply-to address provided in the bulletin itself.
To ensure your privacy, the QCWA bulletins list is "distribution only". Only the QCWA Board of Directors can send bulletins through the server. Also, the list of subscribers is locked - no one other than the QCWA Board of Directors can see the names and addresses being served.
Since the robot only looks at your return address, you can have as many subscriptions as you have return addresses. On the downside, you CAN NOT unsubscribe from any account other than the one you subscribed from, since the robot is only looking at the return address.
